Proud to support ACRA Champs with $28,000 in grants since 2021.

Particularly proud that @acra_rowing has used OneWorld’s annual grants toward their Travel Fund to help more college club programs nationwide compete at Champs.

More racing, more resources, for more rowers.

For ACRA athletes and for all college rowers, OneWorld is also dedicated to sharing info on the opportunities for U23 and post-college high performance (HP) development.

Hello, my name is Will Ruth. I am the Strength Coach for Craftsbury Green Racing Project, and I’m excited to collaborate with OneWorld Rowing in their mission of Supporting Pathways to High Performance (TM). As a former ACRA college club coach and a current HPG coach, I wholeheartedly applaud a charitable organization like OneWorld for helping deliver value-added resources to the college club and high-performance (HP) communities.

That’s why I reached out to OneWorld with an offer to make the new edition of my book “Rowing Stronger: Strength Training to Maximize Rowing Performance” available for free to rowers and coaches in the college club and HP communities.

What you’ll find in the book is my comprehensive guide to strength training for rowers: foundational information about strength training, detailed info about specific exercises, how to build an annual training program, plus sample programs and templates to help build your own strength training program and more.

My educational and professional background:

I started coaching in 2013 at Western Washington University, an ACRA college club program. I was at WWU for six years, coaching on-water as well as in the gym, while finishing my BS degree in Kinesiology, completing an MA in Sport Coaching online at the University of Denver, and earning the National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.

I moved to Vermont in 2019, started coaching in the Craftsbury Outdoor Center’s summer sculling camp, and then became the Strength Coach for the Craftsbury Green Racing Project (GRP) high-performance teams in 2022.

GRP is supported by Craftsbury with U23 and Senior HP residential teams in rowing, Nordic skiing, and biathlon, as well as a remote endurance running team.

Whether promoting physical therapy and sport psychology for HP rowers or focusing attention on athletes as they graduate from college rowing to post-college pre-elite development, you can bet good odds it’s Judith’s original ideas and priorities that OneWorld is incorporating* into our work.

Thrilled to see @usrowing with a strong cohort of our nation’s HP rowers and coaches at this year’s Pan Am Games October 21-25 in Chile. More athletes, more boats lining up, locking in, and blazing down an elite international course…definitely a cause for celebration!

We caught a quick interview with two of the HP rowers repping the U.S. at Pan Ams, @maddy__focht of @arionrowing / @longbeachrowingassociation and @veroni.macaroni of @arionrowing , before they headed to Chile. Madeleine and Veronica kindly shared a few highlights of their 12 month journey from last year’s Trials for the U.S. Pan Am roster through this spring’s Qualification regatta in Chile to the Games themselves this month.

Compassion and expertise are a powerful combination in a coach. @vogcj of @dc_hpg has been the inspiration for much of what OneWorld seeks to achieve with our pro bono programs. Whether promoting physical therapy and sport psychology for HP rowers or focusing attention on athletes as they graduate from college rowing to post-college pre-elite development, you can bet good odds it’s Judith’s original ideas and priorities that OneWorld is incorporating* into our work.

*A more precise description might be “…that OneWorld is happily plagiarizing…” but let’s not bandy semantics here 🙂.

Thrilled to see @usrowing with a strong cohort of our nation’s HP rowers and coaches at this year’s Pan Am Games October 21-25 in Chile. More athletes, more boats lining up, locking in, and blazing down an elite international course…definitely a cause for celebration!

We caught a quick interview with two of the HP rowers repping the U.S. at Pan Ams, @maddy__focht of @arionrowing / @longbeachrowingassociation and @veroni.macaroni of @arionrowing , before they headed to Chile. Madeleine and Veronica kindly shared a few highlights of their 12 month journey from last year’s Trials for the U.S. Pan Am roster through this spring’s Qualification regatta in Chile to the Games themselves this month.
